People often ask me…
It really depends on two things – time and complexity. I have built websites that cost $700 to sites worth over $6,000.
Anywhere from a fortnight to months, depending on number of pages, complexity, elements you want e.g. commerce, booking platform etc., and number of products or services you offer.
It is possible to build just a website, but no-one will ever see it until you have two crucial things…
You will need a domain name for your website, which is usually the same name as your business or organisation with something like .com.au or .org on the end of it. We can purchase that for you.
You will also need a website hosting provider. Most domain name registrars offer hosting as well, but you need to be selective if you want me to build your site for you. To take the hassle out it, we can host your site too at affordable rates. Cheapest is not necessarily the best, as you may miss out on recommended features e.g. security for your site.
Once your website is complete, I don’t just walk away. I will be available to assist in any changes you want made or to fix any issues that may occur with the site. I will regularly check your site to ensure that all is as it should be, and will contact you if it isn’t.
SEO refers to Search Engine Optimization, which is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines.
So, yes, you need it. Good SEO will help people find your site when they go looking for you or the goods/services you provide.
SEO is a complex and ever changing world, and if you have big business ideas, lots of competitors and want to grow your business fast, then employing someone to manage your SEO could be well worth the money.
I can set up very basic SEO parameters as part of the cost of your website. With additional expense, I can expand those parameters. However, there may come a time in your business’ growth that you may need more specialised assistance than I can provide.
You will have a free consultation with me to discuss, in broad terms, what you have in mind, and whether I am the right person to meet your needs – ‘corporate’ is not my language.
If you choose my services, we will have a 2 hour (give or take) brainstorming session. If you already have branding colours, logo, images you want to use, that’s a great start.
I will draw up a contract for the job so that you know exactly what you’re paying for, how much you will be paying, and when stages will be completed.
You may choose to accept the offer of a 2 hour training session, during which I will teach you how to make simple edits or changes to your site.
